Working at Heights Refresher Training ( January 24, 2025 , 9:00a.m -12:30p.m)
January 24, 2025 (9:00 AM - 12:30 PM) (EST)
Description
In workplaces where work at heights is a potential hazard, workers, supervisors, members of joint health and safety committees and health and safety representatives will benefit from this program. It is designed to equip participants with an understanding of relevant legislation, physical hazards that contribute to the dangers of working at heights and methods of controlling related hazards. The program also addresses safety equipment such as guardrails and fall protection systems along with their limitations and precautions for their use. Participants will also learn about the selection and proper use of other equipment such as ladders and scaffolds. This program includes a demonstration of the proper use of a full body harness.
Ontario regulation requires employers ensure all workers on construction projects and in their employ complete a working at heights (WAH) training program approved by the Ministry of Labour's Chief Prevention Officer (CPO). Training must take place before a worker uses a fall restricting system, fall arrest system, safety net, work belt or safety belt. Construction projects are not limited to those on construction sites. They can also occur in factories, schools, restaurants, offices, film sets and hospitals, for instance.
Course is now open for registration.
